The death of Mayor Latoya Cantrell’s spouse has been regrettably confirmed by the city of New Orleans.
Gregory Joseph, the director of communications, broke the sad news in a formal press release, saying, “With deep sorrow and profound heartache, we inform you of the passing of First Gentleman Jason Cantrell.”
Mr. Cantrell worked tirelessly for the development of this community while also being a devoted public servant, a loving husband, and a caring father. He was Mayor Cantrell’s dependable companion as well as an experienced lawyer with knowledge of civil, criminal, and family law. The devoted members of First Gentleman Cantrell’s family, the legal community, and the entire New Orleans neighborhood will cherish his memory for all time. In the arms of God, may he find eternal peace.
“During this difficult time, Mayor Cantrell, his wife, RayAnn, and the rest of the Cantrell family are in our thoughts and prayers. During this trying time, we sincerely ask that their privacy be respected.
Mr. Cantrell’s death has not yet been connected to a specific cause.
